Jožef Smej, (born February 15, 1922) is an Slovene Prelate of Roman Catholic Church.
Jožef Smej was born in Bogojina, Slovenia, ordained a priest on December 8, 1944. Smej was appointed auxiliary arbhbishop of the Archdiocese of Maribor as well as titular archbishop of Tzernicus on April 15, 1983 and ordained bishop May 23, 1983. Smej would hold position of auxiliary bishop of the Maribor diocese until his retirement on June 18, 2009.
